Teacher Librarian (P-6)

Arndell Anglican College is seeking a passionate and innovative Teacher Librarian (P-6) to lead our Junior School Library and play a key role in fostering literacy, information literacy and a lifelong love of learning in students from Prep to Year 6.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator who is committed to creating engaging learning experiences and developing students as confident readers, critical thinkers, skilled researchers and ethical users of information.

About the Role

As Teacher Librarian (P-6), you will provide leadership and oversight of the Junior School Library as a dynamic learning and research hub. You will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering the P-6 Library Studies and Information Skills curriculum while supporting students and staff in the effective use of information, technology and learning resources.

Working collaboratively with teaching and Diverse Learning staff, you will promote the library as a welcoming, innovative and engaging environment that supports literacy, digital learning and student achievement.

This role also includes active participation in the wider life of the College through co-curricular activities, excursions, sporting events and community programmes.

About You

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

· A passion for literacy, reading and student learning

· Strong curriculum knowledge and contemporary pedagogical practice

· Experience delivering engaging learning programs for primary-aged students

· The ability to integrate digital technologies and information literacy into teaching and learning

· Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

· A collaborative approach to working with staff, students and parents

· A commitment to Christian education and the values of Arndell Anglican College

Essential Requirements

· Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications

· Current NESA accreditation

· Experience in teaching and/or teacher librarianship

· Eligibility for, or working towards, professional membership with ALIA (desirable)

· Actively support the Christian teaching of the College and integrating their faith in all you do, and have active involvement in a reformed evangelical Christian church

· Current Working With Children Check
