Job Description

Metalwork WA Pty Ltd Position Overview Metalwork WA Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Full-time Metal Fabricator to join its fabrication team in Western Australia. The successful applicant will fabricate, assemble, install, maintain, modify, and repair structural steel and other fabricated metal products by interpreting engineering drawings, preparing metal materials, and carrying out welding and fabrication activities while maintaining high standards of quality, precision, and workplace safety. Key Responsibilities Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.

Mark out, measure, cut, shape, and prepare metal sections, plates, pipes, and structural components. Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel, frames, platforms, handrails, brackets, truck bodies, and other fabricated metal products. Fit, align, and join fabricated metal components using appropriate welding processes and fabrication techniques in accordance with engineering specifications.

Operate fabrication equipment including guillotines, press brakes, rollers, drills, saws, grinders, and other workshop machinery. Inspect fabricated products to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications. Repair, modify, and maintain metal structures and fabricated products as required.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment while complying with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.



Maintain fabrication equipment and tools in a safe operating condition and comply with workplace health and safety procedures throughout all fabrication activities. Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should possess: A qualification relevant to metal fabrication, engineering fabrication, boilermaking, welding, or a closely related trade equivalent to AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3). Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication plans, and technical specifications. Experience in fabricating, assembling, fitting, installing, modifying, and repairing structural steel and fabricated metal products.

Competency in welding and the safe operation of fabrication machinery and associated hand and power tools. Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques, measuring equipment, quality control processes, and workplace health and safety requirements. Good communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
