Tranby Childcare is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Coordinator to join our welcoming team. Catering for up to 120 children each day, you'll play a vital role in supporting children's health, wellbeing, and development by preparing fresh, nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment.

This is more than just a cooking role, you'll be an important part of our community, building positive relationships with children, families, and educators while helping foster healthy eating habits from an early age.

✨✨About the Role✨✨

As our Food Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our centre kitchen, ensuring meals are nutritious, well-presented, and prepared in accordance with Food Safety Standards and the National Quality Framework.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Planning and preparing nutritious breakfasts, morning teas, lunches, afternoon teas and late snacks.

- Developing rotating seasonal menus in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines and Get Up & Grow recommendations.

- Preparing meals that cater for allergies, intolerances, cultural preferences and medical dietary requirements.

- Maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards.

- Managing food ordering, stock rotation and inventory.

- Monitoring kitchen budgets and minimising food waste.

- Working collaboratively with educators to support children's learning around healthy eating and nutrition.

- Building positive relationships with children by encouraging a love of healthy food.

- Maintaining accurate food safety,



temperature and cleaning records.

- Ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety legislation and childcare regulations.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

- Loves cooking fresh, wholesome meals.

- Is organised, reliable and able to manage a busy kitchen with our Kitchen hand.

- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.

- Enjoys working as part of a supportive team.

- Has a warm and friendly approach with children and families.

- Can multitask and remain calm during busy service periods.

- Has excellent time management and organisational skills.

Essential Requirements

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

- Current Food Handler Certificate.

- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).

- Knowledge of food allergies and safe food preparation practices.

- Understanding of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) requirements.

- Previous experience in commercial, school, aged care or childcare catering is highly regarded.
