About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller / Company Secretary, this role plays a critical part in delivering accurate financial information, supporting sound business decision-making, and ensuring strong financial controls across our retail and property operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, analysing business performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare month-end profit and loss reporting and consolidated financial reports.
- Maintain the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting working papers.
- Prepare and post general ledger journals.




- Assist in the preparation of management reporting and financial analysis.
- Attend and support stocktakes across multiple retail businesses.
- Analyse stock reports, margins and costing information, identifying anomalies and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with store management teams to investigate and resolve stock and financial issues.
- Oversee debtor management and follow up outstanding accounts.
- Approve external payments.
- Manage the Barossa Central Shopping Centre promotional fund reporting.
- Prepare annual FBT returns and Return to Work reconciliations.
- Assist with annual insurance renewals and external audit requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting / Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualification (or near completion).
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant role.
- Solid financial reporting and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience handling large volumes of financial and operational data.
- Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

Highly Regarded

- Experience within retail, FMCG, inventory-based or multi-site businesses.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP and retail systems such as Business Central, Smart Retail, Frameworks or similar platforms.
