About The Opportunity

Thiess is seeking expressions of interest from Surveyors and Senior Surveyors to join our team on our Queensland sites. If you are looking for your next site based role and want to be considered as vacancies arise, we would love to hear from you.

Roster options include 8/6 and 5/2/4/3.

What You Will Be Doing (Surveyor)

Set out designs and provide guidance to production teams to ensure safe, compliant mining to planComplete pickup and as-built surveys and maintain accurate survey recordsCalculate and report volumes for month end and operational reportingSurvey active excavation areas to support reconciliation and progress trackingSupport statutory plans and compliance reportingMaintain survey databases and equipment calibrationWork closely with Mining Engineers, Geologists and site stakeholders

Additional Scope (Senior Surveyor)





Lead daily survey activities and prioritise deliverablesProvide coaching and technical support to Surveyors and GraduatesDrive data quality, standards and continuous improvementPartner with Technical Services and site leadership on risk and compliance

What You Will Bring

Mine surveying experience within open cut coal and or hard rock operationsRelevant surveying qualification or equivalentUnderstanding of mining principles and design conceptsExperience with survey software such as Maptek Vulcan and Point StudioPhotogrammetry and RPAS experience highly regardedStrong safety focus and attention to detail
