About the role

Double Take Cafe is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cafe Supervisor to join our team in Toronto, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire our cafe operations. As Cafe Supervisor, you will work directly with the owner at the heart of our family business, responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high operational standards, and fostering a positive team environment. This role is crucial to delivering the quality experience our customers expect and plays a key part in driving the success of our cafe.

Key responsibilities

1. Supervise and manage daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and cash handling

2. Lead, train, mentor and motivate team members to ensure they deliver outstanding customer service consistently

3. Monitor product quality and food preparation standards to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations

4. Manage scheduling and rostering to optimise staffing levels during peak and quieter periods

5. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally and promptly to ensure customer satisfaction

6. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across the entire cafe, including kitchen areas and customer spaces

7. Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and minimising waste to help control costs

8. Liaise with owner & head chef to report on operational performance and identify areas for improvement

9. Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the Double Take Cafe brand and values

What we're looking for





1. Proven experience working in a hospitality or cafe environment, ideally with supervisory or leadership responsibilities

2. Strong knowledge of cafe operations, including food and beverage preparation, customer service standards and point-of-sale systems

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams

4. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure, particularly during busy service periods

5. Solid understanding of health, safety and food hygiene regulations relevant to the hospitality industry

6. Problem-solving mindset with the confidence to make decisions independently and escalate issues appropriately

7. Attention to detail and organisational skills to manage scheduling and stock control

8. Customer-focused approach with genuine enthusiasm for providing exceptional service

9. Flexibility to work wide-ranging shifts, including early mornings, and weekends as required

10. Relevant qualifications or certifications in food handling, hospitality supervision are advantageous
