About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to join our team at our Midvale, WA location. This is a full-time position that will play a pivotal role in driving the success and profitability of our store. As Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, leading a diverse team, and ensuring an exceptional experience for our customers. This role is integral to achieving our business objectives and maintaining our reputation for excellence in the fasteners and industrial supplies market.

Key responsibilities

1. Manage all daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and stock management

2. Lead, train, motivate and develop a team of retail staff, setting clear performance expectations and conducting regular performance reviews

3. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and health and safety regulations

4. Drive sales performance and work towards achieving store targets through effective merchandising, customer engagement and promotional activities

5. Maintain accurate inventory records and implement effective stock control systems to minimise loss and ensure product availability

6. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their needs and resolving complaints professionally

7. Monitor and manage store expenses, budgets and profitability

8. Ensure the store workplace is clean, well-organised and visually appealing to customers

Recruit and retain quality staff, fostering a positive workplace culture

10. Liaise with the director on operational matters, reporting on performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Store Manager or in a similar retail management role within a busy retail environment

2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively

3. Excellent knowledge of retail operations, stock management and point-of-sale systems

4. Demonstrated ability to drive sales performance and achieve business targets

5. Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

6. Sound financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting and cost management

7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and workplace compliance standards

8. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

9. Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying operational improvements

1. Preferred: Experience in the fasteners, industrial supplies, or construction retail sectors
