As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of the Waste team to ensure that projects and tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. You will also undertake hands-on work on general Waste duties, operate plant equipment, provide direction and support to team members and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. You’ll ensure the smooth running of essential waste services relied on by Central Coast residents every day.

Essential:

- Experience in Waste sector.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor and motivate team members.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and provide clear direction to ensure productive workflow.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leading hand role.




- The ability to operate a variety of heavy and light plant and equipment relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of safety issues relevant to the role, and strong commitment to safe working practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Ability to work split work weeks that include weekends and some public holidays.

Salary and conditions: Full-time position (76 hours per fortnight). Central Coast Council’s Enterprise Agreement – Works Level 4.1 ($39.24 per hour).
