About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join The Abbey at Chesters, a distinguished hospitality destination in Henley Brook, Western Australia. This is a full time position that sits at the heart of our culinary operations, directly contributing to our reputation for excellence and our guests' unforgettable dining experiences. As Chef, you will lead kitchen operations, oversee food preparation, and maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and presentation that define our establishment.

What you'll be doing

- Planning and preparing menus that showcase creativity, seasonal ingredients and culinary expertise

- Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking and plating of dishes to the highest standards

- Training, supervising and mentoring kitchen staff to ensure consistency and professional development

- Maintaining strict adherence to food safety, hygiene and health regulations at all times

- Managing food costs, portion control and inventory to optimise profitability whilst maintaining quality

- Sourcing quality ingredients from reliable suppliers and building strong vendor relationships

- Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction

- Innovating and developing new dishes whilst respecting The Abbey's culinary standards and brand identity

- Ensuring kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Chef or Senior Cook in a high-quality hospitality environment

- Strong culinary knowledge and demonstrated expertise in food preparation across multiple cuisines or specialisms

- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff

- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, allergen management and kitchen hygiene protocols

- Proficiency in menu planning, costing and food inventory management

- Outstanding organisational and time management abilities,



with capacity to work effectively under pressure during service

- Creative flair and passion for developing high-quality, visually appealing dishes

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with all team members

- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (preferred)

- A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences through outstanding food
