City Mission is looking for a Manager Business Development to identify and pursue new business opportunities for the organisation along with reviewing current operational activities to maximise profitability and efficiency of our social enterprises. City Mission is proud to operate across approximately 30 sites in Northern and North-West Tasmania, encompassing Launceston, Burnie, Devonport, and surrounding regions. Through a team of over 200 staff and 600 volunteers, we serve more than 20,000 Tasmanians annually, offering a broad range of services including housing and homelessness support, emergency relief, community chaplaincy, mental health recovery, and social enterprise initiatives. Reporting to the General Manager Social Enterprise, the Manager Business Development will be responsible for finding potential customers, identifying and developing business growth opportunities, negotiating deals, and managing relationships within existing contracts. They also develop strategies to increase engagement, collaboration and profitability, review operational practices and develop efficiencies within Social Enterprise activities

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential Qualifications/Experience:





- Minimum Diploma of Business and/or 3 years’ experience in a similar management position.

- Excellent relationship building and verbal and written communication skills.

- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously while remaining connected to management and team.

- Demonstrated innovative strategic thinking and planning.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Experience writing and delivering business cases and contracts.

- Solid negotiation and persuasion skills.

- Highly Proficient with MS Office.

- Deep connection with the mission, vision and values of LCM.

- National Police Check is required for all roles at LCM.

- Registration to Work with Vulnerable People is required for all roles at LCM.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

- Experience or demonstrated capacity to work in an organisation adopting a Christian ethos.

- CPA/CA Qualifications.

- Experience with Social Enterprise.

- Experience in developing and achieving assigned tasks within an organisational strategic planning framework.

- Established professional networks with industry, government, and community.

This is a full-time position, although some flexibility may be considered. As a Public Benevolent Institution, LCM employees are eligible to Salary Package through our approved provider.
