Aussie World | Casual Position (full-time hours)

Aussie World, the Banana Bender Pub and the Shed is a successful tourism landmark located on the Sunshine Coast Queensland featuring a family theme park with rides and attractions, iconic tourist pub and function and events centre.

Are you a practical, hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in keeping a gardens and grounds looking its best? Aussie World is on the lookout for a reliable Grounds person / Handyman with a focus on laboring and cleaning to join our maintenance team.

This is a varied, hands-on role perfect for someone who enjoys a different challenge every day — one moment you might be tending to the gardens, digging a hole, assisting to set up a function, the next fixing a fence, and then helping ensure our rides and attractions areas are safe, clean, and presentable for our guests.

- Hours are Monday - Friday up to 38 hours per week on a regular basis.

What You'll Be Doing

- General grounds maintenance — mowing, edging, weeding, and keeping our park looking its best

- Routine maintenance and minor repairs across the park (fences, signage, fixtures, painting, and general upkeep)

- General laboring duties, digging, moving materials and furniture

- General cleaning duties across public areas, amenities, and back-of-house spaces

- Identifying and reporting hazards or maintenance issues to support a safe environment for staff and guests





- Assisting with basic safety checks and ensuring work areas meet WHS standards

- Supporting the wider maintenance and operations team with ad-hoc tasks as needed

What We're Looking For

- A genuine "can-do" attitude and willingness to get hands dirty

- Previous experience in handyman work, gardening, maintenance, or a similar trade-adjacent role (formal trade qualifications not required, but a bonus)

- Minimum of 1-2 years proven experience in cleaning and grounds maintenance

- Good physical fitness — the role involves manual labour, lifting, and being on your feet in the elements - rain or shine.

- A strong awareness of workplace health & safety

- Reliability and flexibility, including availability across weekdays, weekends, and school holiday periods

- A friendly, approachable manner — you'll be working in a guest-facing environment

- Must be a flexible TEAM PLAYER, with a positive attitude - aligning with Aussie Worlds Values

- Must hold permanent resident status in Australia
