1HOUSE CAFE AND GRILL, operated by SHEHZAD PTY LTD, is seeking an experienced and qualified Chef for a full-time position.
The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring Asian-inspired, fusion and contemporary dishes, prepared using quality ingredients and professional cooking techniques.

Qualifications and experience
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications, including Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Diploma of Hospitality Management or an equivalent relevant qualification
- At least one year of relevant qualified experience as a Chef
- Solid knowledge of Asian, fusion and multicultural cuisines
- Sound knowledge of commercial kitchen operations, food safety and hygiene requirements
Duties and responsibilities
- Plan menus in consultation with management and kitchen staff
- Estimate food requirements, labour costs and operating costs
- Order food supplies and maintain appropriate kitchen stock levels
- Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and menu requirements
- Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation
- Maintain consistency in taste, portion size and food presentation
- Discuss food preparation and service issues with managers, kitchen staff and waiting staff
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise staff on food preparation procedures
- Develop and improve recipes, menus and cooking methods
- Prepare dishes for customers with special dietary requirements
- Explain, implement and enforce food safety and hygiene regulations
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure the proper storage and rotation of food
- Select, train and supervise kitchen staff where required
- Minimise food waste and assist with controlling kitchen costs
- Freeze, preserve and safely store food where required
- Coordinate food preparation during busy service periods

- Salary: $81,999 per annum plus superannuation
