Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Opportunity

The Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) is expanding, and we're seeking an organised, innovative and motivated Project Officer to support a range of strategic initiatives across our statewide service. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development,



implementation and evaluation of projects that strengthen mental health outcomes for some of Victoria's most vulnerable young people.

Working closely with the FYMHS Stream Lead and senior clinical and operational leaders, you will support projects across both Community and Custodial FYMHS, including service expansion initiatives, workforce implementation, operational readiness planning, quality improvement activities, stakeholder engagement and service development projects. A key focus will be supporting the establishment of Custodial FYMHS services at the newly reopened Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct (MYJP) and other strategic priorities across the statewide Community FYMHS program.

About You

The position requires strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously within a dynamic and evolving service environment.

Through effective coordination, stakeholder engagement and project support, the Project Officer will contribute to the successful delivery of strategic initiatives that enhance forensic youth mental health services and improve outcomes for young people across Victoria.

Qualifications

- Relevant tertiary qualification in project management, health administration, public health, business, social sciences,



health sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience preparing reports, briefing papers, meeting documentation, presentations and project communications.
- Willingness to work across multiple service locations as required.
