Home Care Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Support Workers
We are seeking Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and experienced Support Workers to join a small home-care team supporting an elderly gentleman in Glenelg North.
Multiple positions are available, with duties allocated according to each employee’s qualifications, experience and scope of practice.
About the Client
The client:
- Has speech, hearing and vision impairments
- Is unsteady when walking or standing
- Requires nasogastric tube feeding
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
All Roles
- Assist with food and drinks where safe and appropriate
- Check and record vital signs
- Fully assist with personal hygine, including: toileting (incontient management), showering, dressing and undressing
- Encourage and assist with exercises prescribed by the physiotherapist
- Assist with mobility and transfers
- Assist with feeding and the preparation of modified meals and thickened fluids
- Assist with speech and breathing exercises
- Encourage social activities and conversation
- Take the client on outings in his car
Registered and Enrolled Nurses
- Provide diabetes management
- Provide wound management
Registered Nurses
- Lead and provide on-call support to the care team
- Coordinate doctor and specialist appointments and follow-up care
- Assist with recruiting and training current staff
- Assist with rostering and timesheets
- Create and review care plans and duty lists
- Manage medications, including administration via NGT
- Complete post-fall assessments, neurological observations and follow-up care

About You
You will:

- Prioritise the client’s safety, dignity and wellbeing
Two to three years' experience in aged care, disability support, nursing or a similar field is preferred. Australian and overseas experience will be considered.
Qualifications and Requirements
Registered Nurses
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Enrolled Nurses
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
Support Workers and Carers
Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or a related field
All Applicants
- Current National Police Clearance issued within the past 12 months
- Current CPR and manual handling certificates
- Medication competency where relevant
- Evidence of required COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete an employer-funded pre-employment medical assessment
