Mechanical Assistant
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Education: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification. Physically fit and capable of performing manual, heavy labour. Experience: Minimum 5 years of basic workshop or mechanical assisting experience is preferred. Basic knowledge of heavy vehicle parts (engines, braking systems, air systems and hydraulics). Valid Code 10 or Code 14 Driver’s Licence is required and a valid PDP is highly advantageous. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kathu/surrounding Northern Cape areas
Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)
Assist in inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel trucks and trailers. Perform routine tasks such as oil changes,
replacing filters, and lubricating components under supervision. Safely operate and handle hand tools and workshop equipment. Help move, park, or deliver trucks as required by the workshop manager. Maintain a clean, protected, and organized workshop environment.
