Nunkuwarrin Yunti is the largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation in metropolitan Adelaide. We provide a culturally protected environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to access services, guided by our values of Caring, Community, Communication and Consistency.
Based in Adelaide and reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture, this role offers an exciting opportunity to influence workforce strategy, support organisational growth, and contribute to positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
As People & Culture Partner, you will be a trusted advisor, providing both strategic and operational support across the full employee lifecycle, helping leaders navigate employee relations matters, build team capability, strengthen workplace culture, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
You will:
- Partner with leaders across the organisation to provide People & Culture advice, coaching and support that builds leadership capability, strengthens team performance and aligns people outcomes with organisational goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, providing expert guidance on performance management, workplace issues, policy interpretation, investigations, disciplinary processes and workforce development initiatives.
- Lead and support talent and workforce activities, including position design, recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and resource management to attract,
develop and retain high-performing talent.
- Drive a positive, inclusive and values-led workplace culture by championing employee wellbeing, diversity, inclusion, engagement and initiatives that foster a safe, respectful and supportive work environment.
- Leverage people data and insights to identify trends, inform decision-making, support strategic workforce planning and contribute to organisational performance and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing practical HR solutions, supporting community-focused outcomes and enhancing organisational capability across diverse teams.
- Contribute to organisational growth and transformation by leading continuous improvement initiatives, strengthening systems and processes, supporting change management activities and ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
You bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline and/or
- Relevant experience (2–3+ years) and knowledge in a generalist HR capacity.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture, history and determinants of health and wellbeing.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and gain the confidence of a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Highly self-motivated,
with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a complex environment.
- High level analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills with an ability to explore new and innovative ways to do business using creative solutions.
- Commitment to placing the customer at the centre of everything we do, demonstrated through the provision of timely, reliable and expert advice on matters within area of responsibility.
Desirable
- Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS/ACCHO), Community Services, Health or not-for-profit environment.
- Experience with ELMO HRIS System.
- Completion of Return to Work (RTW) SA Certification Training.
