EHW Technology is seeking a Communications Technician to join our technical team in Mackay.

If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and the satisfaction of completing quality installations, you'll find plenty of variety and challenge in this role.

What you'll be doing:

- Install, terminate, test, and certify CAT6 and fibre optic cabling to industry standards.

- Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues, identify faults, and implement effective solutions.

- Provide skilled onsite support and communicate clearly with customers and project stakeholders.

- Take ownership of your work, ensuring installations are completed safely, professionally, and to a high standard.

- Manage your workload effectively while coordinating with the wider technical team to achieve project outcomes.

- Maintain accurate job records, test results, and installation documentation.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

- An Open Registration Cabling Licence with relevant endorsements and/or a recognised Trade Certificate.

- A Construction Industry White Card.

- An Open Manual Driver's Licence.

- The ability to work independently,



take ownership of your work, and see projects through from start to finish.

- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and job sites effectively.

- A commitment to quality workmanship, attention to detail, and maintaining high professional standards.

- Good communication skills and a practical, customer-focused approach.

- A willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute positively to the team.

Experience

Ideally, you'll have 3 or more years' experience installing and testing CAT5e/CAT6 cabling, fibre, and communications infrastructure; however, if you have a strong work ethic, take pride in quality workmanship, and enjoy hands-on technical work, we'd still like to hear from you.
