About Us

Burnside Snack Bar is a busy and well-established quick-service restaurant located

in Ormeau on the Gold Coast. We are committed to delivering high-quality food and

exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. We are currently seeking

a motivated and enthusiastic Cook to join our kitchen team. The role reports directly

to the Head Chef and provides practical, hands-on training across all areas of

commercial kitchen operations.

About the Role

This is a full-time training position designed for an individual who is passionate about

developing a career as a Cook. Working alongside experienced chefs/cooks and

managing all aspects of kitchen operations while contributing to the day-to-day

success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

 Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and

presentation standards.

 Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and portion control.

 Assist with food preparation for daily kitchen operations.

 Accommodate customer dietary requirements where required.

 Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.

 Assist with stock rotation, inventory control and ordering.





 Minimise food waste and contribute to cost control initiatives.

 Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.

 Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and kitchen team during busy service

periods.

 Participate in ongoing workplace training and skills development.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

 3 years of experience in the kitchen as a cook

 A genuine passion for cooking and the hospitality industry.

 A willingness to learn and develop practical commercial cookery skills.

 Good communication and teamwork skills.

 The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 Strong time management and organisational skills.

 A positive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards.

 Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices (preferred but not

essential).
