We are an established hydroponic horticultural production business based in Virginia, South Australia, growing and supplying hydroponic vegetables. We are seeking an Irrigation Technician to install, maintain and optimise irrigation and fertigation systems.
Remuneration & hours
- Salary package: from $71,550 per annum plus superannuation (paid in accordance with the applicable Award; commensurate with skills and experience)
- Full time, ongoing position
- Hours: 38 ordinary hours per week, averaged over a 4-week cycle (152 hours per 4 weeks), plus guaranteed overtime of approximately 8 hours per week (paid at overtime rates) — around 46 hours per week in total.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Install, operate, maintain and repair irrigation and fertigation systems
- Monitor water application,
pressure and soil moisture; adjust systems for optimal use
- Diagnose and repair faults in pumps, lines, valves and controllers
- Program and manage automated irrigation controllers
- Maintain irrigation records and water-use compliance
- Support water-efficiency and system-improvement initiatives
- Follow WHS requirements and use personal protective equipment
Skill & Experience
About you
- Relevant experience installing / maintaining irrigation systems (or a relevant certificate)
- Practical mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work outdoors across a range of conditions
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Reliable and safety-focused
