Make a real difference in the lives of young people experiencing homelessness.
Join Meli's City Limits Youth Refuge team and provide practical, trauma-informed support to young people as they build independence, strengthen their living skills, and work towards safe and sustainable housing outcomes. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive and empowering setting where young people can thrive.
As a Flexi Worker, you will:
- Support young people to achieve goals identified in their case management plans, including housing, education, employment, health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Provide youth-friendly, trauma-informed support to young people residing at City Limits Youth Refuge and during the post-exit support period.
- Assist young people to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, meal preparation, personal wellbeing, hygiene and household responsibilities.
- Maintain a safe, secure and supportive refuge environment through effective documentation, handovers, supervision and adherence to program policies and procedures.
Position Details
- Multiple, casual positions
- This casual position includes after hours, weekends and sleepover shifts
- $46.81 p/h + casual loading
What We’re Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Qualification or equivalent in Youth, Welfare or Community Work (Certificate IV and above).
- Experience in working in a Community Services setting,
and/or experience in working with young people in a Residential setting.
- Knowledge of practice frameworks including Best Interest, Advantage Thinking and Trauma Informed Care.
- An understanding of the causes of youth homelessness including risk factors, protective factors and support needs
