Partner in the Community Early Childhood Coordinator

Full time - Permanent, Moonah, TAS

About the Role

The Partner in the Community (PITC) Early Childhood Coordinator provides high‑quality care and support to children with disability or developmental delay, and their families. This role is responsible for early connections and supports for children aged 0‑9 years, including facilitating NDIS access and developing, implementing, and reviewing NDIS plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Facilitate informal and formal assessments for children 0‑9 years.
- Facilitate individual and/or group sessions with participants when required.
- Provide short‑term intervention using best‑practice models and consult with Allied Health Professionals when required.
- Assist individuals or nominated contacts to develop, implement, review, and monitor their NDIS plans when funded.
- Establish and maintain solid networks with community groups, organisations, government services, and service providers, and link people as appropriate.
- Work alongside individuals and families to build capacity and confidence to live a good life, setting their own goals, exercising choice and control over funded services, and engaging in mainstream and universal supports.
- Support families to implement plans and monitor progress.
- Operate within BaptistCare policies, procedures and quality framework.
- Commit to the development and maintenance of cohesive teams within BaptistCare and the NDIA.
- Participate in meetings, supervision, and staff development.
- Complete required training (NDIA LEAP and BaptistCare Learning Management System) within specified time frames.
- Attend mandatory face‑to‑face training sessions and workshops.
- Lead community engagement and awareness activities and capacity‑building projects.
- Communicate effectively in conversations,



written work and presentations.
- Use excellent organisational, time‑management, and self‑direction skills.
- Work within the NDIS ILC Outcomes Framework and NDIS ECEI principles.
- Meet KPIs as specified by the NDIA Statement of Requirements.
- Maintain spreadsheets and registers required for KPI tracking.
- Assist with telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries.

Key Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated comprehensive assessment and planning skills.
- Proven experience working with children aged 0‑9.
- Outstanding ability to provide early childhood supports and develop strategies in line with best practice.
- Ability to work within complex environments and be outcome‑focused.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others and act as a change agent through strengths‑based, person‑led practice.
- Proven ability to communicate, build and nurture relationships and partnerships with a range of people and organisations at individual, service and community level.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the principles and values of human rights, social justice and inclusion.
- Demonstrated ability and initiative to effectively use a range of software and learn, embrace and adopt new systems.

Requirements

Applicants must have a related qualification with dedicated modules in Childhood Development and experience in Early Childhood. Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.

Required checks: National Criminal History Check, Current valid motor vehicle licence, Current Working with Vulnerable People check or willingness to obtain, NDIS Worker Screening Check.
