About the Role
This position focuses on designing, building, and evolving internal platforms and automation systems that improve how the business operates. Working closely with the Lead Platform & Automation Architect, the role is responsible for delivering scalable, reliable solutions that reduce manual effort and streamline workflows across the organisation.
Position Functions
- Design and implement internal platforms, systems, and automation frameworks in line with defined direction and priorities
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and contribute to solution design, aligned with architectural direction
- Build and maintain automation workflows, integrations, and services across internal and third‑party systems
- Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Execute end‑to‑end delivery of solutions, from implementation through to deployment and iteration
- Develop internal tooling and abstractions that simplify complex processes for business users
- Ensure systems are performant, reliable, and maintainable over time
- Contribute to modernisation efforts, including improving or replacing existing systems
- Apply established standards, patterns, and guardrails across all implementations
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise systems to maintain reliability and performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and implement aligned solutions
- Document systems, workflows, and implementation details to support scalability and maintainability

Requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of programming fundamentals (e.g., variables, functions, control flow, and basic data structures)
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and contemporary development practices
- Experience building applications using TypeScript and a React‑based framework (Next.js preferred)
- Ability to design, build, debug, and iterate on applications, scripts, and automation workflows
- Strong focus on building systems that are performant, efficient, and maintainable over time
- Familiarity with automation concepts and integrating APIs or third‑party services
- Experience building internal tools or workflow‑based systems
- Practical use of artificial intelligence tools to assist in the development of systems and automations
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
- Understanding of deployment processes, release management, and environment separation (e.g., dev/staging/production)
- Experience with version control systems (GitHub preferred)
- Experience working with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira or similar ticketing/workflow systems
- Understanding of Agile or iterative delivery approaches
