An Electrical Engineer will support Australia’s defence mission, applying current and emerging technologies to solve complex problems and enable the Australian Defence Force to execute missions effectively. The role involves working closely with Engineering Authorities, stakeholders, and implementation teams to conduct engineering assessments, review Engineering Change Proposals, and deliver innovative solutions within cost and schedule constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical interface between the customer, management, and the implementation team, conducting systems analysis to derive function, performance, and interface requirements that meet electrical safety parameters.
- Engage in System Design activities, including trade studies, to ensure design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product and deliver system design that meets performance requirements.
- Perform technical risk analysis, support the development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments, and risk mitigation actions.
- Ensure assigned electrical systems/sub-systems are developed and implemented according to appropriate standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders,
securing Raytheon’s reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream, including the ability to attain RPEQ recognition.
- Experience in Engineering disciplines including involvement in Requirements Definition, Management, Analysis, Design, Verification and Validation.
- Experience representing Engineering professional services to internal and external customers.
- Minimum five years of prior relevant experience when a university degree is held.
- Practical to substantial knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business, with the ability to make enhancements and leverage knowledge in daily work.
- Experience in product configuration control.
- Availability to travel when required.
