Overview
We are searching for an exceptional leader to join our dynamic team at Port Augusta Technical College as an Industry Program Lead in the steam of Civil Resources and Infrastructure, who will help drive the success of this transformative initiative. This is a vocational training pathway offered by the technical college that prepares students for entry‑level roles in the construction, mining, and infrastructure sectors. This training focuses on the skills required to build, maintain, and support large‑scale community projects like roads, bridges, tunnels, water pipelines, and mining operations.
Co‑located with Port Augusta Secondary School, Port Augusta Technical College runs a part‑time enrolment model for secondary school students within the region to access whilst maintaining their enrolment in their current school, offering four industry training programs for careers in civil, resources and infrastructure, health and social support, hospitality and tourism, and multi‑trades (for careers such as plumbers, builders, electricians, and boilermakers).
What You Will Do
- Educational Leadership: Support the development of professional learning environments by strengthening networks between teachers, trainers, industry and employer partners within and beyond Port Augusta Technical College to foster dialogue, sharing, and constructive feedback to improve educational outcomes for students.
- Strategic Planning:
Lead the implementation of a range of student support strategies including quality career education and guidance, wellbeing for learning and mentoring in the technical college and with employer partners.
- Positive outcomes: Lead a positive and constructive working environment that is focused on quality student outcomes.
What You Will Need
- Proven ability to establish sound and effective relationships and communication with staff, students, parents, and training providers to promote professional dialogue and a collaborative working culture resulting in improved educational outcomes for students.
- Proven ability to lead and design and deliver high‑quality teaching approaches that foster student engagement and support learner growth.
- Experience in leading flexible industry pathway curriculum and educational reform including processes to engage community and industry stakeholders to establish pathways for students.
- Full teachers' registration with the TRB and eligibility to obtain Authority to Teach with the Department for Education. Teacher employment requirements and registration.
