You’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality anaesthetic and perioperative care while contributing to service development, teaching, and clinical governance.
As a Consultant Anaesthetist
- Provide anaesthetic services across a broad case mix including:
- General surgery
- Orthopaedics
- Obstetrics & gynaecology
- Endoscopy and procedural lists
- Dental and investigative services
- Lead pre‑anaesthetic assessment clinics
- Deliver care to high‑acuity patients, including HDU ward rounds
- Provide advanced procedural care including airway management, ventilatory support, central venous access, and acute and perioperative pain management
- Coordinate patient transfers with Retrieval Services Queensland
- Participate in the on‑call and after‑hours roster
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement
- Mentor and supervise junior doctors and medical students
