Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for providing chair‑side assistance to a Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist
- You will assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records, as well as other duties as required
- You will assist in the promotion of oral health to patients
- You will ensure compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, including accordance with Defence Policies & Procedures
- You will contribute to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated compliance with relevant standards and procedures
- Minimum of 2 years’ (full time equivalent) chair‑side experience within the last 5 years.
- Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011)
and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
- You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on‑base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
Location
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. This includes providing defence‑ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on‑base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on‑site medical care.
RAAF Base Pearce is the main Air Force base in WA and is located at Bullsbrook, 35kms north of Perth. It is one of the busiest RAAF bases in the country in terms of total aircraft movements and primary function is pilot training. Pearce Health Centre, upgraded in 2021, provides primary medical, aviation medicine, nursing, mental health, physiotherapy, dental and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 0730‑1600 Monday – Thursday depending on role requirements, and a half day 7:30 – 13:30 Friday.
