base salary range of $91,814 - $99,376 . The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

This is a full‑time ongoing role working on‑site within our buzzing Artarmon newsroom! This role is classified as a shift worker but will primarily work Monday — Friday each week — a rare chance in the news world!

As a rostered shift worker, additional shift penalty payments may apply for work performed outside of ordinary hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per the SBS Enterprise Agreement (EA). SBS may also require you to work reasonable overtime, where overtime will be paid at applicable rates in accordance with the EA.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Editor, the Finance Producer will play a critical role in pitching and producing finance stories that reflect the SBS Charter, across SBS News platforms in an easy to understand way.

Key responsibilities include:

- Pitching, planning, and producing high‑quality news & feature scripts for all platforms, using rich media assets and publishing in a timely manner
- Working with the Finance Editor, intake teams and output producers to determine the required coverage of finance
- Planning future finance stories across multiple platforms and ensuring delivery

About you





We’re looking for someone who brings:

- 4+ years journalism experience
- An ability to initiate and develop story ideas with case studies and build a strong contact base
- Knowledge of finance, business and other news relating to economics an advantage
- Experience in filing for multiple platforms – TV, digital and audio
- Great communication skills and the ability to communicate across multiple teams
