Overview
Doctors in Training (DiT) 2027 Basic Physician Training (BPTs) Service Registrars and RMO's - Multiple positions at Launceston General Hospital (LGH). LGH is a 400-bed public teaching hospital serving the Launceston area and major referral centre for North and North West Tasmania. The role offers exposure to a wide range of specialties within inpatient and outpatient settings.

Details of Appointment
Service Registrar: Fixed‑term, full‑time, day worker. 76 hours per fortnight. Commencing 1 February 2027 until 6 February 2028. Negotiation of contracts up to two years may apply.
Basic Physician Trainee (BPT): Fixed‑term, full‑time, day worker with on‑call duties. 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time. Commencing 1 February 2027 until 6 February 2028. 3‑year contracts may be offered.
For a period of twelve months from publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies.
Salary and Benefits
Medical Practitioner Level 5‑11: $138,978 – $194,675 per annum, pro rata, plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging.
Benefits include living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, and other eligible perks.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current Working with Children Registration where applicable.
- All registrations and licences must remain current and valid during employment.
- Pre‑employment checks: conviction checks for violent, sexual, serious drug, dishonesty offences, identification checks, disciplinary action in previous employment.
