You will join a new underground development project within an established open pit operation in North Queensland, working closely with the owner's team to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery. This role offers exposure to the full life of the project, from early development through to handover to site operations.
In this position, you will coordinate and monitor contractor activities, support the installation of key services, and ensure the project meets schedule, budget, and safety targets. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to maintain smooth project delivery and a seamless transition to operations. This is a contract role based in North Queensland, with flexible roster options including 9:5 or 5:2. Townsville-based candidates are preferred, with Brisbane-based candidates considered for an adjusted roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee underground mining contractor activities
- Support early-stage development works including decline advancement
- Coordinate installation of underground services (ventilation, power)
- Monitor project performance against schedule, budget, and safety targets
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and handover
About you
- Proven experience in underground mining operations and contractor management
- Strong background in early-stage underground development projects
- Experience with installation and management of underground services
- Effective communicator, able to work within an owner's team workplace
- Relevant Mining Engineering qualifications
