Registered Occupational Health Nurse - JN 1319
Our client is a growing occupational health services provider in Port Hedland, working with clients across the mining, resources and industrial sectors. Their focus is simple: keeping people safe at work and making sure workers are medically fit for the roles and environments they are heading into. Through a doctor-led approach, our client delivers high quality pre-employment, occupational health and periodic health assessments for client workforce.
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is looking to move into, or continue building a career in, occupational health. Ideally, we would love to hear from applicants already living in Port Hedland or South Hedland, however candidates based in Karratha or surrounding Pilbara locations who are open to a DIDO arrangement are also encouraged to apply. FIFO into Port Hedland may also be considered, with accommodation provided. The role may be structured as full time, part time or job share, depending on the right candidate, their availability and the agreed working arrangement.
The Tasks Ahead
- Pre-employment medical examinations
- Health and medical history screening
- Vision testing
- Musculoskeletal and fitness assessments
- Audiometry testing
- Spirometry testing
- Urine drug and alcohol screening
- ECGs, where required
- Blood sample collection, where required
- Hearing Protection Device and Respiratory Protection Fit Testing
- Accurate reporting, summaries and referrals
- Working with doctors, results, bookings, quality control and operations teams
- Supporting medical results quality control and follow-up of pending results when required
About You
This role will suit a Registered Nurse who is warm, professional, organised and genuinely cares about keeping people safe and fit for work. Occupational health experience would be highly regarded,
however, this could also be a great opportunity for an experienced clinical nurse looking to step into a role that supports the mining, resources and industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working autonomously, staying organised throughout the day and asking questions when something needs to be clarified.

Key Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Nursing or similar relevant qualification
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Current driver’s licence
- Full Australian working rights
- Ability to provide a current Police Clearance
- Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance
- Strong attention to detail and accurate reporting skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a close-knit team
- Good computer skills and confidence using systems
- Audiometry training, or willingness to undertake
- Spirometry training, or willingness to undertake
- Drug and Alcohol Screening Officer qualification, or willingness to complete HLTPAT005
- Previous experience in occupational health, mining, resources or remote environments will be highly regarded
