Maple Street Co-operative is a community-owned wholefood store that has been serving the Maleny community for over 45 years. We are passionate about organic and locally sourced food, supporting ethical producers, and creating a welcoming shopping experience for our members and customers.

We're looking for a motivated Grocery Shop Manager to lead our retail team and oversee the day-to-day operation of our busy store.

About the role

Reporting to the Business Manager, you'll be responsible for:

- Leading, mentoring and rostering the retail team

- Delivering exceptional customer service

- Stock purchasing, ordering and inventory control

- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships

- Overseeing POS, cash handling and retail administration

- Maintaining high merchandising, food safety and presentation standards

- Supporting member engagement and store initiatives

- HR responsibilities including recruiting, onboarding, training and appraisals

- Working collaboratively to achieve the Co-op's operational and financial goals.

About you





You'll bring:

- Previous retail management or supervisory experience

- Solid leadership and organisational skills

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Experience with stock control, purchasing and retail operations

- Confidence using retail systems and office software systems

- A collaborative approach and a passion for community-focused business.
