Our busy and growing venue is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Qualified Cook to join our team.
You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes using your knowledge and expertise in modern Australian cuisine. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
- Monitor food stock levels and order supplies as necessary
- Assist in the development of new menu items
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen station
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and freshness
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff as required
Requirements:
- Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Cook in a busy restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and food safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in the quality of food prepared
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for the culinary arts and a desire to continually learn and develop new skills
