Dimco Building
Adelaide
DimCo builds high end residential and select commercial projects across Adelaide. We do them properly. Organised, transparent, hassle free for clients, suppliers and contractors, while taking pride in how our sites and our work present. We are building the systems and standards that will take us to the next level, and we want someone who wants to be part of that.
This role is not for everyone
Construction can be tough at times, so if you think it will be easy, this is not for you. We need someone with a genuine passion for building, who cares about the outcome, not just the hours, and who gives it their best rather than the bare minimum.
What you will be doing
Project management and site supervision, working closely with the construction team and directly with the Director. Mostly on site, back in the office most days to regroup and plan.
- Coordinate trades, schedules and site logistics
- Supervise and support the site team day to day, and take that 7am phone call when you're needed
- Work directly with the Director on planning and keeping jobs on track
- Use our systems and tech properly
- Communicate clearly with clients, architects, suppliers and contractors
- Help raise the standard of how DimCo runs
- Know where all the best coffee spots are across Adelaide, this is non negotiable
What you will not be doing
- Avoiding site to sit behind a desk all day, waiting to be told what to do
- Doing everything on paper because tech feels like too much effort
- Coasting because "that's how it's always been done", we don't follow the standard approach
Who you are
- Genuinely passionate about building, not just applying because you want something different
- When you walk onto a site,
people gravitate to your advice, and you love a good meeting
- The general issues that come up day to day ignite you, they don't scare you
- You find comfort boring, learning and growth are your real driver
- Comfortable with tech and systems, or keen to get valuable at them, and always looking for the next addition, paper is a thing of the past
- Pride in how you and your work present, that's your standard
- Able to take a joke and give one back, and takes the work seriously without taking yourself too seriously
Who you are not
- Resistant to change
- Attached to paper trails and old school methods
- Unable to take a bit of banter
- Looking for an easy ride
If none of that sounds like you, this is not your gig. If it does, keep reading.
What you get
A director who backs himself to be the best leader you will have worked for. We work hard, hold ourselves accountable when we stuff up, and learn from it. We are investing in tech and systems to change how this industry runs, and you would be part of building that. It is serious work, but we know how to have a laugh along the way. Culture is where it all begins, we don't have a team without it.
How to apply
Skip the cover letter. Send us a message and answer these:
1. Tell us about a time you got something wrong on site and how you fixed it.
2. Why do you actually want to work in construction, and why you're crazy enough to love it.
3. What is one piece of tech or a system that has made your work life easier, or one you wish more builders would use.
Send that with your CV to ****@dimco.com.au with the subject line: Site Coordinator Application
We are hiring one person for this. If you are the right one, we will know.
