Our client, a well-regarded national not-for-profit organisation, is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Officer to lead and strengthen a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
This is a key standalone role partnering closely with leadership to provide specialist WHS advice, coaching and practical support to ensure compliance, continuous improvement and a robust wellbeing focus.
- Reporting to the Manager, People & Operations, you will:
- Lead implementation of the organisation's WHS strategy and annual plan
- Develop, review and embed safe work procedures and policies
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and compliance audits
- Manage WorkCover claims and return-to-work programs
- Coordinate emergency management processes and workplace inspections
- Deliver WHS training and toolbox talks
- Support psychosocial risk management and employee wellbeing initiatives
- Maintain WHS reporting, analytics and performance data
- Partner with leaders to ensure compliance with Australian WHS legislation and best practice
- This role supports the full employee lifecycle – from onboarding and inductions through to ongoing training, wellbeing programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
You will bring
- Minimum 4+ years' experience in a WHS role
- Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation
- Experience managing WorkCover claims and return-to-work programs
- Demonstrated experience in audits, risk management and complianceExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence and coach leaders
- Cert IV in Workplace Health & Safety (or similar qualification)
- Current Working With Children Check, National Police Check and Driver's Licence
- Experience within community, government or purpose-driven environments will be highly regarded.
