As an experienced Risk / Systems / Process Engineer your responsibilities are to identify, analyse and minimise risks associated with large construction or resource extraction projects. You will be facilitating Bowtie Risk Analysis using Bowtie XP. You will be responsible for leading the representative cross section through the process to develop the bowties for high-risk and MHF. Where controls need improvement, you will be required to assist the client team in developing these controls.

You already know what a Project Manager does. But this is what makes this role unique:

- You will facilitate Bowtie Risk Assessments using Bowtie XP and support in the development of the controls.
- You will Manage the resources both internal and external in supplying the information necessary to build the bowties.
- Arrange for risk-based assessment of processes, procedures, controls, and verifications. These are to be facilitated by the engineer and approved by the risk accountable person.
- Arrange individual risk engineering surveys through discussions with account teams, clients and market engineers.
- Write, including the drafting of and processing of the approval of the bowtie report.



The report is to detail information and findings which the client can use to improve their risk position efficiently.
- Provide technical expertise on how to deliver the Bowtie. Your experience in risk and process engineering will be used to help internal resources lend their skills and experience to developing a meaningful outcome.
- Where improvement requirements are identified, the engineer is to develop the requirements into an improvement scope of requirements. The engineer is to assist where practical. It is accepted that the engineer may not be best placed to delver on all actions.
- Meeting with clients to understand their project needs and requirements.
- Collaborating with other teams to align on process, structure and deliverables.
- Producing risk reports on risk by using risk software. Bowtie analysis to be provided by an external party, PM is to facilitate the assessment.

You’ll know by now if this role is suitable for you. But just in case you need help understanding your suitability, here are some of the criteria we will be using.At AMREP Australia a successful project manager in safety case development requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proactive risk assessment, clear communication, and adept stakeholder management. They must prioritise safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and foster a safety-conscious culture within the team while ensuring timely project delivery and adherence to industry standards.

In addition, you'll have:

- Approx. 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Process Engineering skills in the development of risk assessment, control assessment and safety cases.
- Background in Risk and or Process Engineering (tertiary qualifications are preferred in process and/or chemical engineering but are not essential).
- Experience with hazardous facilities.
- Capacity to manage internal and external teams and stakeholders.
- Expert skills in Bowtie Software packages (essential).
- Intermediate Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook).
