The Position
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and self driven Projects and Service Manager to join our Adelaide based team.
This role is responsible for managing workshop equipment installation projects from planning through to completion while overseeing the delivery of exceptional after-sales service and technical support. You will coordinate service technicians, contractors, suppliers, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational and leadership skills, a solid technical background within the automotive or workshop equipment industry,
and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Key Result Indicator 1 – Plan, coordinate, and manage workshop equipment installation projects from quotation through to commissioning.
Key Result Indicator 2 – Manage and support the service department to ensure prompt, professional, and high quality customer service.
Key Result Indicator 3 – Schedule and coordinate technicians, subcontractors, and resources to maximise efficiency and meet customer deadlines.
Key Result Indicator 4 – Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, contractors, and suppliers, as well as fostering a positive, collaborative internal team culture.
Key Result Indicator 5 – Ensure all projects and service activities comply with company policies, Australian Standards, and Work Health & Safety requirements.
Key Result Indicator 6 – Monitor project budgets, timelines, and service performance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key Result Indicator 7 – Provide technical support and guidance to customers and the sales team, while leading and mentoring technicians to bring out their best and consistently deliver profitable jobs.
Key Result Indicator 8 – Assist with equipment commissioning, customer training, warranty management, and service reporting where required.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Projects Manager, Service Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive workshop equipment, including vehicle hoists, wheel service equipment, oil delivery systems or related products.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands on technical experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and upskill technicians, helping them grow and perform at their best.
- Sound understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a high performing team.
- Current driver's licence.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Trade qualification in Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar.
- Experience managing installation teams or field service technicians.
- Experience reading technical drawings and equipment specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Forklift license.
- MR-HR Truck license.
