About the role

Join Austin Engineering as the Leading Hand Boilermaker for the Kewdale Workshop. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll implement and initiate work activities and instructions that are passed on to the busy crew.

Duties

· Leading Hand responsibilities in busy workshop

· Lead, inspire and promote a positive OHS culture in the workshop

· Develop a collaborative workplace environment fostering teamwork, respect for others and adhering to Austin values

· Train and coach less experienced staff as required

· Ensure employees are empowered and accountable for their specific responsibilities and making sure they have appropriate resources and support to achieve their objectives and expectations

Skills & experience

· Trade Certificate in Fabrication — essential





· Minimum 2 years Leading Hand Boilermaker experience

· Previous industry experience in heavy steel manufacturing or mining equipment fabrication

· Sound working knowledge of OHS standards

· Sound working knowledge and experience of the Australian standards, in particular AS1554 Part 1 and Part 4
