Position Overview

The Course Advisor – International Students plays a key role in supporting new prospective and enrolled students throughout the admissions and study lifecycle. This position focuses on course advising, admissions counselling, and ongoing academic support, ensuring students receive accurate guidance and a smooth transition from enquiry through to commencement and progression.

The role requires a strong understanding of the Australian education framework, compliance requirements, and a student-centred approach to advising international learners.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage and process student applications from initial enquiry through to offer, acceptance, and enrolment.

· Assist local education agents and their counsellors’ queries, support and work towards building professional relationships.

· Promote, attend seminars and provide training on VIT programs & it is offering with external stakeholders.

· Assist student service support team as front-line support for current students as per business requirements.





· Assess applications against entry requirements, academic eligibility, English language proficiency, genuine student requirements, DHA and all other regulatory criteria.

· Provide accurate advice to prospective students on course options, entry requirements, fees, intakes, and enrolment procedures.

· Liaise with international recruitment and admissions team, applicants, internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate application processing.

· Issue Letters of Offer, Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), and related admissions documentation in accordance with ESOS Act and National Code and institutional policies.

· Ensure strict compliance with regulatory requirements, including ESOS Act, National Code, TEQSA, ASQA, NEAS and internal policies and procedures.

· Verify student documentation with VeriOnce (Blockchain-based Verification Platform), including academic records, English test results, and Genuine Student (GS) requirements where applicable.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in the student management system (e.g. CRM, AO-CRM, PRISMS, SMS).

· Support students through the enrolment process, including orientation, course commencement, and initial academic progression.

· Respond to admissions and enrolment enquiries via email, phone, and in-person in a professional and timely manner.





· Monitor application and enrolment data, preparing reports and updates for management as required.

· Collaborate with academic, compliance, finance, and student services teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing student support.

· Assist with audits, compliance checks, and reporting related to admissions and enrolment activities.

· Support marketing and recruitment initiatives, including open days, information sessions, and agent events.

· Supporting orientation and student engagement activities when business requires.

· Managing student requests, complaints and services resolutions.

Preferred skills and Experience.

· Enrolments, Admissions or a related experience.

· 2–4 years’ experience in international student admissions, course advising, or education counselling within the Australian education sector.

· Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian education framework, including ESOS Act, National Code, and relevant compliance obligations.

· Experience advising international students on course selection, entry requirements, and progression pathways.

· Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

· High attention to detail and accuracy in assessing applications and maintaining student records.

· Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

· A student-focused mindset with empathy, professionalism, and robust problem-solving skills.

· Experience supporting student orientation, onboarding, and retention initiatives (desirable).

· Communication and interpersonal skills.
