We're looking for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to help lead our team and contribute to the ongoing success of The Little Pub.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys leading people, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and making a genuine impact on venue performance.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you'll help drive daily operations, support team development, and maintain high standards across the venue.

About the Role

As Assistant Venue Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the venue.

You'll lead from the front, support your team, maintain compliance standards, and help create memorable guest experiences.

This role offers the perfect mix of leadership, customer interaction, problem-solving, and team development in a fun and energetic hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the daily operation of the venue

- Lead, coach and motivate team members

- Deliver exceptional customer service

- Handle patron enquiries and resolve issues professionally

- Ensure compliance with RSA, RSG, gaming and licensing requirements

- Open and close the venue, including cash handling and end-of-day procedures

- Support recruitment, onboarding and staff training

- Monitor team performance and promote a positive workplace culture

- Maintain venue presentation, cleanliness and safety standards

- Manage stock control and report maintenance issues





- Work closely with the Venue Manager to achieve business goals

About You

You are a confident hospitality professional who leads by example, enjoys developing people, and is passionate about creating outstanding guest experiences.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

- Minimum 2 years' experience in a hospitality leadership role. Whether you're an experienced supervisor or a Duty Manager ready for your next career move, you'll be looking to take on greater responsibility and make a meaningful impact in a busy venue environment.

- Strong leadership and people management skills

- Excellent communication and customer service abilities

- Sound knowledge of hotel, liquor licensing and gaming operations

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under pressure

- A reliable, professional and organised approach

- A hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed

Essential Requirements

- Current RSA Certificate

- Current RSG Certificate

- Current Responsible Persons (RP) Badge

- Availability to work nights, weekends and public holidays as required

- Eligibility to obtain and maintain approvals under SA Liquor Licensing and Gaming legislation
