About the Role

As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll for our workforce, ensuring employees are paid accurately and in accordance with legislation, Awards, and company policies. Working within the People & Culture team, you will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, managers, and external stakeholders to deliver an efficient and compliant payroll service.

What You'll Be Doing

- Processing end-to-end fortnightly payroll for employees and contractors

- Reviewing and verifying timesheets and payroll data for accuracy

- Maintaining employee payroll records, contracts, pay rates, superannuation and banking details

- Processing payroll adjustments, deductions, overtime and allowances

- Preparing payroll journals and General Ledger imports

- Ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation, Awards, taxation, superannuation and payroll tax requirements

- Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and managers

- Liaising with external contractors and government agencies, including the ATO, Services Australia and Centrelink

- Supporting WorkCover payroll matters in collaboration with HR and WHS

- Assisting with payroll audits, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives





- Providing payroll guidance and support to managers across the business

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in an end-to-end payroll position

- Robust knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards and compliance requirements

- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

- Robust organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- A professional and confidential approach when handling sensitive information

- Robust computer skills and confidence working across payroll and Microsoft Office systems

- The ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business

Experience with UKG Ready or a similar payroll system will be highly regarded.
