Role Description The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations at Ballarat Wildlife Park, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and guest satisfaction. This full-time, on-site role is based in Ballarat, VIC and involves managing café and kiosk operations, supervising team members, coordinating rosters, and monitoring stock levels and procurement. The role includes developing menus in line with visitor needs and park values, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and implementing effective processes to optimize costs and quality.



The manager will work closely with other departments to support events, group bookings, and seasonal promotions, while maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for visitors and team members.
QualificationsDemonstrated experience in food and beverage management within hospitality, tourism, or similar environments, including supervision of front-of-house and back-of-house operations.Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to train, coach, and motivate diverse teams and foster a respectful, inclusive workplace.Knowledge of food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and WHS requirements, with practical experience implementing compliance procedures.Proficiency in stock control, ordering, budgeting, and basic financial reporting, with attention to cost management and revenue growth.Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle high visitor volumes, feedback, and complaints professionally.Ability to work on-site, including weekends, public holidays, and peak periods as required by park operations.Relevant qualifications in hospitality management, business, or a related field are highly regarded; equivalent experience will also be considered.Interest in wildlife conservation, education, or eco-tourism and a commitment to sustainability and ethical practices are beneficial.
