Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Mechanical Draftsperson to join our team in Maddington, WA.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced draftsperson who enjoys producing high-quality technical drawings and working closely with engineers and workshop personnel.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing detailed manufacturing drawings and supporting documentation for overhead cranes, hoists and customised lifting equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings using AutoCAD.

- Produce and revise CAD drawings in accordance with engineering requirements and customer specifications.

- Interpret engineering calculations and design information to develop accurate manufacturing documentation.

- Revise drawings following engineering, workshop and client feedback.

- Maintain drawing registers and engineering documentation.

- Liaise with engineers, workshop personnel and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.

- Support manufacturing by responding to drawing queries and implementing design updates.





- Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards and relevant Australian Standards.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting processes and documentation.

About You
Essential

- Certificate IV, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering Drafting, Mechanical Design or a related discipline.

- Demonstrated experience as a Mechanical Draftsperson, CAD Draftsperson or similar role within manufacturing, structural steel or heavy industry.

- Proficiency using AutoCAD.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical drawings.

- Ability to interpret engineering calculations and technical specifications.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively within a team.

Desirable

- Knowledge of AS/NZS 1554, AS 4100, AS 3990 and AS 1418.

- Experience within the overhead crane, lifting equipment, structural steel or heavy manufacturing industries.

- Experience producing fabrication and assembly drawings.

- Knowledge of fabrication, machining and welding processes.

- Experience maintaining drawing registers and engineering documentation.
