Salary Range: Base Salary $68,726 per annum + super, plus overtime and penalty rates dependent on work performed. Additional entitlements and overtime do not form part of the advertised base salary

About The Role:

Step into a rewarding outdoor role with Council where every day brings something new and your work directly contributes to the local environment. You'll spend your time across parks, bushland and waterways, carrying out hands-on environmental activities including revegetation, weed management, habitat maintenance and fire mitigation.

This practical field-based position involves monitoring water quality, undertaking erosion control works, removing litter and responding to environmental incidents such as fish kills and oil spills. You'll also assist with nursery operations, plant propagation, soil assessments and wildlife management activities, including bat monitoring and dispersals.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll play an important role in protecting and enhancing natural areas while developing valuable skills and experience. Certificate III Conservation and Land ManagementCurrent Manual Queensland “C” Class Driver’s LicenceCurrent Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control LicenceCurrent Positive Notice Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtainConstruction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)Chainsaw / Polesaw CertificatesFire Fighter (Vegetation) or willingness and ability to obtain

Desirable

Recreational Boat Licence or willingness and ability to obtainBasic nursery operations or skills

About You!

You will have sound knowledge of natural area management including revegetation, weed and feral animal control techniques, on-ground fire management, erosion mitigation techniques and working knowledge of environmental practices and procedures, including the maintenance of associated plant and equipment

You will have the capacity to work in natural areas and conduct revegetation, plant identification, fire and weed management and the ability to drive 4x4's and reverse trailers.
