The Mentor plays a vital role within our organisation with the main responsibility of maintaining a culture committed to providing quality services.
The key responsibilities will be delivered as a team with support across all functions of the company. The duties of the Mentor may include to:
– Comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct to support participants in ways that are respectful and inclusive.
– Providing emotional and practical support by talking to participants and their families about the participants’ needs and listening to their concerns.
– Assisting participants with domestic, personal care tasks or tasks in line with their NDIS goals.
– Tending to their healthcare needs.
– Supporting them to pursue hobbies and interests – community access.
– Understand their communication needs.
– Completion of mandatory shift notes after each shift within 24 hours.
– Assisting in the completion of Participant Care Plans and coherently understanding participant goals.
– Effectively communicating with their Team Leader.
– Any additional administration duties as reasonably requested by broader Being Mentors team.
Mentors must possess the following:
– Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS framework.
– A robust personal brand displaying a strong set of values, integrity and a commitment to professionalism and accountability.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills.
– Current Driver’s License.
– Comprehensive Car Insurance covering business use.
– Completed NDIS Worker Screening (or will be required to independently obtain).
– Completed Working with Children check (or will be required to independently obtain).
