We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and experienced Painter to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paints and coatings, maintaining a high standard of workmanship, and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, patching and filling.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes and protective coatings to internal and external surfaces.
- Mask, cover and protect surrounding areas before commencing work.
- Operate and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, ladders, scaffolding and elevated work platforms.
- Complete all work to company quality standards and client expectations.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications and work orders.
- Maintain a clean and protected worksite at all times.
- Follow all Workplace Health & Safety requirements, SWMS and company procedures.
- Accurately complete timesheets, job records and daily reports.
- Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors and team members.
- Assist with material handling, site setup and pack-down.
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification in Painting and Decorating (preferred).
- Previous residential and/or commercial painting experience.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently.
- Experience with airless spraying and specialty coatings is advantageous.
Essential Requirements
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Construction White Card.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Reliable transport to and from work.
