Technical Business Analyst (Mid-Senior)

We’re looking for a highly technical, delivery-focused Business Analyst to help bring structure to a fast-moving engineering organisation.

This is not a “write meeting notes and make PowerPoints” BA role.

We’re seeking a mid-to-senior level Technical Business Analyst who will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with engineering, product, support, and operations teams to turn messy ideas, legacy workflows, and tribal knowledge into clear, actionable work.

You’ll help reduce ambiguity, improve delivery quality, and bring order to a large and evolving backlog across multiple systems and teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Working with engineering and product teams to refine and structure backlog items
- Breaking down large initiatives into clear, deliverable work
- Writing high-quality issues and tickets with technical context and acceptance criteria
- Identifying missing requirements, dependencies, risks, and edge cases
- Helping clean up and rationalise existing backlog items
- Investigating existing system behaviour and documenting workflows
- Acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Improving delivery hygiene and engineering visibility
- Supporting teams across APIs, integrations, automation, infrastructure, and internal tooling

What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Technical BA, Systems Analyst, Delivery Analyst, or similar role
- Strong technical understanding of modern software systems and engineering workflows




- Comfortable working directly with developers and participating in technical discussions
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with tools such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms
- Ability to identify ambiguity and drive clarity
- Excellent written communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable operating in scale-up environments with evolving processes
- Ability to work independently and engage confidently with technical stakeholders

Bonus Points
- Experience with healthcare, SaaS, enterprise, or workflow-heavy platforms
- Understanding of APIs, databases, integrations, and event-driven systems
- SQL experience
- Experience working alongside DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering teams
- Experience helping manage technical debt and platform modernisation initiatives
