YOUR ROLE, HONESTLY

The Career Support & Advisory Lead establishes and leads JMC Academy’s national Career Support & Advisory function, strengthening student employability, career readiness and graduate outcomes across all campuses.

This senior leadership role develops the national career support framework, builds employer and industry engagement pathways and ensures students have structured access to career education, job readiness support and industry-aligned opportunities.

Reporting to the Head of Campus Operations, the role provides leadership to the campus based Career Support Advisors and works closely with academic leadership, Heads of Department, Alumni Coordinator, Student Experience and Student Data teams to embed employability throughout the student lifecycle.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Design and implement JMC’s national career support and advisory framework across campuses.
- Develop a structured program of career readiness activities aligned to student lifecycle stages and discipline needs.
- Ensure career support is delivered consistently while allowing discipline-specific and campus-specific adaptation.
- Build and maintain employer, industry and community partner relationships that support student employability outcomes.
- Coordinate a pipeline of opportunities including guest speakers, employer sessions, industry panels, internships, placements, freelance opportunities and graduate pathways.
- Work with Heads of Department to complement, discipline-specific industry relationships.
- Ensure industry engagement activity is tracked, coordinated and aligned to JMC’s graduate outcomes strategy.
- Represent JMC at relevant industry events, employer forums, and creative sector networks
- Support the development of consistent processes for internship and work-integrated learning support in partnership with academic teams.
- Ensure students are prepared to engage professionally with internship or industry opportunities
- Design and deliver nationally consistent career readiness programming across the student lifecycle, including orientation, mid-course touchpoints, and pre-graduation preparation.
- Develop discipline-specific employability resources in collaboration with Heads of Department, addressing the diverse career pathways available to JMC graduates.
- Oversee delivery of career advisory services, workshops, portfolio preparation, interview coaching, and networking programs.
- Coordinate the administration of COL401 internship unit support in collaboration with Heads of Department.
- Manage Career Support & Advisors and set clear expectations for student advisory delivery, programming and reporting.
- Lead the administration of JMC’s graduate outcomes survey program, ensuring consistent data collection across all campuses and c





contribute to broader student experience and graduate outcome reporting for leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- Experience leading career development, employability, work-integrated learning, employer engagement or student success initiatives.
- Strong understanding of graduate employability, career readiness and creative industries career pathways.
- Demonstrated ability to build employer relationships and translate opportunities into student-facing programs.
- Team leadership experience and ability to support delivery through advisors across multiple campuses.
- Strong stakeholder management across academic, industry, student services and alumni stakeholders.
- Ability to use data to track participation, outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Experience in higher education, creative industries or employment services is desirable
- Working with children check required.

THE PRACTICAL BITS

BASE: Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane

REPORTS TO: Head of Campus Operations.

TYPE: Full time, permanent.
