Sweat

Adelaide

Location: Fully Remote or Hybrid (Adelaide or Melbourne offices) Reports to: Head of Product & CX

At Sweat, we support all women looking to make positive change with fitness and healthy lifestyle experiences. We empower women with fitness and we move towards that vision guided by four principles: Move Forward, Move Fast, Move Strong, and Move As One.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the end-to-end experience of one of the world's leading women's fitness apps. You'll work closely with product management, engineering, marketing, content, exercise science, and customer support to solve real problems for millions of women across iOS, Android, and web balancing bold new ideas with continuous, iterative improvement of the core experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll take the lead on design for high-impact projects, mentor other designers, and help set the bar for craft across the team including how we use AI and agentic design tools in our day-to-day practice. You'll champion an AI-first, prototype-driven design approach that helps turn Sweat's product and design vision into build-ready solutions, faster.

You'll also directly manage a Product Designer on the team, covering their portfolio of work while they're on maternity leave and planning a smooth handover for their return.

Why You'll Love It Here

- Real impact, real scale — your design decisions shape a product used by millions of women around the world, working towards a mission you can genuinely stand behind
- Flexibility that works for you — fully remote or hybrid, with the option to work from our Adelaide or Melbourne offices
- Room to lead — take ownership of high-impact projects, mentor a growing design team, and help shape how design operates at Sweat, not just execute within it
- A seat at the table — present directly to senior stakeholders and the CEO/founder, with design treated as a core driver of product strategy, not an afterthought
- Growth-minded culture — join a team that values curiosity, craft and continuous improvement
- Free access to the Sweat app — experience the product you're building firsthand
- Paid maternity leave — genuine support for growing families
- An entrepreneurial workplace — autonomy to make decisions, try new things, and shape the way we work

What You'll Do

Product Design

- Own the end-to-end design process from discovery and problem framing through to solution design, build-ready UI, and post-release learnings
- Partner with product management from the earliest kickoffs, shaping feature scope and design effort estimates
- Conduct and synthesise user research, competitor analysis, and data insights to ground decisions in real member needs
- Facilitate design and ideation workshops, story mapping, and design critiques across product, engineering and content
- Create user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and finished UI ready for development across iOS, Android and web
- Champion an AI-first, agentic design practice using intelligent tools for rapid prototyping, generative concepting, and design-to-code handoff
- Run and interpret user testing and A/B experiments to iterate on designs before and after release
- Work closely with engineers through implementation, providing transparent specs so designs ship as intended
- Support design for localisation and accessibility across languages, regions and Sweat's global community
- Contribute to and champion the Sweat design system

Leadership

- Set the craft bar and drive design quality across every stage of delivery and all platforms
- Mentor and support other designers with precise, constructive feedback
- Advocate for design thinking and user-centred methods across the business
- Present and rationalise design decisions confidently in critiques and stakeholder reviews
- Support the Head of Product and CX in planning workload, priorities, and long-term design goals
- Stay ahead of new AI and agentic tools, helping the team weave them into everyday practice
- Directly manage a Product Designer, providing coaching, career support, and covering their portfolio during maternity leave

Organisation Wide

- Collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, marketing, content, exercise science, and customer support
- Champion the design function internally, translating design rationale into clear language for non-design stakeholders

- Represent Sweat's design perspective in cross-functional planning and go-to-market decisions
- Some work outside normal hours and interstate travel may be required

About You

- A great communicator who articulates design decisions and rationale to audiences ranging from delivery stakeholders to the CEO and founder
- A great listener, genuinely curious about member needs and open to feedback on your own work
- Strong visual design, typography and interaction design skills, with an eye for detail and consistency
- Fluent in AI and agentic design tools, using them daily for prototyping, generative concepting and rapid iteration
- Data-informed, comfortable using research, testing and product analytics to guide decisions
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a rapid-paced environment
- Able to work autonomously while remaining a robust, collaborative team member
- Naturally curious, a lifelong learner always looking to improve your craft
- Innovative balancing bold ideas with an appetite for continuous, iterative improvement

What You'll Bring

Essential

- 5+ years as a Product Designer working on digital consumer products, with proven experience owning the end-to-end design process
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineering, including writing user stories, producing story maps, and working within tools like Jira and Confluence
- Strong proficiency in up-to-date UX/UI design (in Figma), interaction design, prototyping and animation, with experience designing responsive web and native mobile (iOS/Android) experiences

Preferred

- Familiarity with mobile and web design patterns, design systems, accessibility principles, and modern prototyping tools
- Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools in the design process (e.g. Figma AI/agentic workflows, Claude | Design via MCP integrations)
- Tertiary qualification in Design, UX, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent training
- Experience designing for subscription-based, community, content, or consumer technology platforms — particularly in fitness, wellness or health tech
- A track record applying user research, usability testing, and design thinking to validate concepts and drive product decisions
- Comfortable creating visual assets, illustrations and marketing imagery for in-app experiences and campaigns
