We are looking for an experienced and passionate hospitality qualified with excellent food and wine knowledge to join our team at Archers Torquay as a Wine Bar Staff

At Archers, we’re a vibrant neighbourhood wine bar offering an exceptional selection of local and international wines, craft beers, cocktails, and thoughtfully curated food. We are passionate about supporting local producers, reflected in our carefully crafted menu. Our focus is on providing an outstanding guest experience, celebrating the best this region has to offer.

Responsibilities

- Provide exceptional customer service to guests
- Serve and recommend local, Australian and International wines to patrons
- Make cocktails, pour tap beers, general spirit serving
- Take food orders, and reset tables in between courses
- Operate the bar with efficiency and a friendly demeanour
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Adhere to responsible service of alcohol guidelines
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations
- Stay updated on wine offerings and promotions
- Food preparation, including pizzas and cheese/charcuterie boards
- Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is:

- Experienced – 1+ years in hospitality, preferably in a wine bar or similar fast-paced environment.
- Passionate About Food & Wine – A good base knowledge of wine,



or a willingness to learn.
- An Excellent Communicator – Warm, personable, and confident when engaging with guests and colleagues.
- Organised & Detail-Oriented – Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive & Hands-On – Able to work efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Cocktail-Savvy – Experience in mixing drinks and general bar service.
- RSA Certified – Up to date with Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements.
