Primary objective
Deliver high quality, culturally appropriate and effective Podiatry inpatient and outpatient services within Top End Regional Health Service.

Context statement
The Top End Regional Health Service Allied Health Division provides integrated allied health services in a variety of service settings
including acute and sub-acute care, primary health care, aged care and mental health. Currently seeking applicants in the following areas:
Podiatry.



This position will require the applicant to work within an extended hours service model, which may include weekends.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide timely, clinically and culturally appropriate Podiatry services under minimal supervision within a multidisciplinary framework.
2. Provide feedback to the senior staff and management on program and clinical issues in the Podiatry clinical area.
3. Provide clinical supervision and/or support to students and relevant staff.
4. Prioritise and manage a caseload within an ever changing work environment to ensure timelines and health outcomes are met.
5. Co-ordinate and/or contribute to continuous quality improvement and service development activities at a local or regional level to

ensure delivery of contemporary Podiatry services.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in

order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary work practices and role modelling behaviour in accordance with TEHS cultural

charter.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Relevant qualifications in Podiatry that meets membership eligibility requirements of the Australian Podiatry Council and registration

for practice with the Podiatry Board of Australia.
2.



Post graduate experience in providing contemporary high level clinical Podiatry services to patients and families/carers.
3. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with patients and

families/carers of diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
4. Well-developed communication, interpersonal skills, negotiation and conflict management skills, with experience working in a team

environment to achieve positive health outcomes.
5. Experience in clinical supervision of students and/or staff and a commitment to professional development.
6. Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage a high volume workload.
7. Proven ability to implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
8. Demonstrated clinical knowledge and post graduate experience in the management of high risk foot pathology (including ulceration,

infection, Charcot neuro-arthropathy and post-amputation management).
9. Commitment to participating in and providing ongoing professional development in the area of high risk feet management.

Desirable
1. Post-graduate qualifications in clinical education, leadership / management or speciality practice area.
